Laura Horobin.

Senior Physiotherapist – BSc HCPC MCSP

I qualified from the University of Birmingham in 2003 with a BSc (Honours) degree in Physiotherapy. I am a full member of The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy, The Health Professions Council and the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists.

Soon after graduating, I realised that my interests lay firmly in treating musculoskeletal conditions. I began working in Basingstoke Hospital’s Physiotherapy out-patient department.

I enjoy treating a wide variety of musculoskeletal conditions, from acute sports injures to more chronic neck and back problems. Each patient has a different goal and I am passionate about helping them achieve it.

Furthermore, my role at the hospital also involves supervising junior physiotherapists and educating university students.

Over the years I have developed a special interest in low back, sacroiliac joint and pelvic problems.

In particular, I am interested in pregnancy-related problems such as Pelvic Girdle Pain and separated stomach muscles. This has led to me becoming the lead physiotherapist for ante and postnatal patients at the hospital. I deliver training to the physiotherapy team in this area and I am on-hand to assist them with more complex patients.

In 2012, I became a member of the Fitback and Bumps team. This is a specialised ante and postnatal education and exercise programme delivered by chartered physiotherapists. It can be delivered as one-to-one physiotherapy sessions or as a small group. I enjoy helping mums to stay as fit as possible during their pregnancy and to regain their stomach muscle function post-natally.

I am very pleased to be part of the Square One team and look forward to helping you on your road to recovery.
